Learn About Metal Minds Hub

Metal Minds Hub started out of the need for Software Implementation Support for fabricators using some sort of MRP / ERP solution but wants to move to Tekla Powerfab.  With over 23 years of experience in the structural steel industry implementing and using various solutions, we can help develop a plan and accelerate your team to completion.

Jason Eatherton Happy to Help a Client Learn Software

A Trusted Partner In Software

Owner and founder Jason Eatherton started out in 2000 working for Dakota Steel.  In the beginning, Dakota Steel had a custom Project Management tool written in Microsoft Access coupled with a combination of DOS Structural Software and a custom program written in Basic to compile the information for Estimating. This is still common today where fabricators have multiple systems being used to run the business.

Back to Jason’s experience, in 2003 company ownership did the right thing and chose to go all in with industry leading FabTrol software. Not fully understanding the scope of what was to come, a FabTrol trainer arrived and at the end of a week said “you’re “good to go””. They weren’t! It was a whirlwind of information. The team was overwhelmed and there was so much they didn’t know.

You should never expect that you will be “good to go” after a week.

There is always a certain number of unknowns but it doesn’t have to be like that.

The key to that eventual successful implementation was a full commitment from the entire team. The same will be required of your team.

Over the next three years a core of us grew up in the industry with the software.  Working our way through each area, fully understanding, fully integrated with the next portion.

These programs are designed to run your entire fabrication business.  Supporting all aspects of your day-to-day operation and processes.  You wouldn’t expect that someone starting at your company would know everything in a week, the same is true for your company to understand all the best ways to use this powerful tool.

A Data Driven Process

Our team has been through multiple large-scale implementations and smaller-scale reboots as the industry and software have changed.

We will be your ‘easy button’ talking through each aspect of your fabrication business and helping you optimize setup and use of the software for you.

We believe software is the single greatest investment you can make for your business.  Unlike a piece of equipment that only helps one area, software impacts every corner of your business and allows you to get the most out of every area.

Your team has a full plate already, they don’t have time to “figure it out” and continue to do their jobs.  Together we can apply a crawl, walk, run approach.  They will be immersed in the program from day one, but we will be there to ask all the key questions, connect all the dots, and fill any process gaps in the right way so things aren’t missed.

Let Us Help You With The Details

Having been in the industry now for over 20 years I have been at all levels.  Managing Projects, Leading the shop, Purchasing, Detailing, Estimating, Production Planning, Site Manager, and implementation of software as well as all the supporting products. We know what your team needs and can help you avoid all the inherent “gotchas” with an implementation like this.

The bottom line is, this is your business, and your software implementation. Let’s work together to make it as successful as possible, in the shortest timeframe possible.

The biggest mistake you can make in this process is putting it off or essentially doing nothing. You are costing your business time, money, and efficiency.  None of which can you afford to waste. Schedule a consultation today and let’s discuss your present situation. From there we can develop a plan to transition from your current tools, implement Powerfab, or simply improve on where you are today.
